In today’s era of popularization of USB-C, most smart devices began to use this port, while still there are some differences between these three „USB-C ports“:

Thunderbolt 3: Support at max. 40 Gb/s bandwidth, which also supports DisplayPort alternate mode, data transmission, charging (supports three monitors) USB-C 3.1 Gen 2: Supports a bandwidth of max. 10Gbps, may support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (support two or three monitors) USB-C 3.1 Gen 1: Supports a bandwidth of max. 5Gb/s that may support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (only supports one monitor)

Before you buy this USB-C hub, you must know:

1. Please check if your laptop has a USB type c(Gen 2)/Thunderbolt 3 port and support DisplayPort alternate mode, if you don’t know how to recognize it, let us know, we also welcome user compatibility reports.

2. Connect the laptop power supply to the USB C Power Delivery port before connecting an external hard drive or multiple devices to the hub.

3. Due to the process of EDID communication (Extended Display Identification Data) there may be a screen blackout for a few seconds after connecting the monitors. The recovery time depends on the respective monitor (max. 1 minute).

4. The HDMI DisplayPort cable only supports the transfer of DisplayPort to HDMI signals, but not HDMI to DisplayPort signals.

If the USB-C hub does not work properly with your new Chromecast with Google TV, proceed as follows:

1. Plug everything except the Chromecast connected to the TV via HDMI.

2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the USB C hub.

3. Plug the power cable of the Chromecast into the socket and the other end into the hub.

4. Plug the USB C power from the hub into the Chromecast.

5. Wait for Chromecast to fully boot up and the hub should now work.
